Typical feel and use:
- Maximum support for heavier babies and toddlers
- Very cushioned with minimal dig-in
- Ideal for long carries and extended wear
- Best for back carries as your baby grows
- Warmer to wear, especially in cooler weather
- Requires a longer break-in period
Best for: Toddler carrying, long outings, and those who want extra support and structure.
Keep in mind
Higher GSM doesn’t always mean a wrap will feel bulky or stiff.
Some heavier GSM wraps can still feel light due to:
- Double or layered weaves that spread weight more evenly
- Supportive fibres like hemp or wool that add strength without excess bulk
- Weaves that create cushioned support without trapping as much heat
A wrap may be rated as heavy by GSM but feel more like a medium in real-world use.
