Girasol designed both waist options to be fully interchangeable. You can easily swap between the buckle and tie waist belts to suit your preference.
The tie waist belt is especially simple and sustainable — no buckle, no adjustments needed, and it comfortably fits wearers of all sizes.
How to Change the Waist Belt

Open the Velcro fastener and gently remove the current waistband from the carrier tunnel.

Slide in the new waistband (buckle or tie) through the tunnel and secure the Velcro.

Make sure both Velcro pieces align exactly — this keeps your carrier in top condition.
If you’re quite slim and find the padding overlaps when tying, simply cross the straps behind your back and tie in front for a comfortable fit.
